Sitting atop the same hill as the Castle of San Guisto, the cathedral dedicated to the same patron Saint also offers spectacular views of the city and can be reached by Scala dei Giganti from Piazza Goldoni. The current structure with Karst stone joined two existing churches in the 14th century. The styles are said to incorporate both Roman and Byzantine trademarks, and frescoes and mosaics, including the town's patron St. Justus, adorn the interior as does a very impressive Virgin Mary with child and the Apostles. The beautiful rose window is unmissible.
