Located inside the Teutonic Order's former hospital building the Zamek Hotel has to be one of the great disappointments of tourist Poland. Why have a good hotel on the doorstep of one of Poland’s seven wonders, when you can settle for something nasty. Rooms here haven’t seen a refurb since communism, and gloomy accommodation comes coloured in depressing sewer brown shades. Closed at press time although as it is now under the control of the castle authorities it is expected to re-open in the summer of 2013.
