A true gem, Le Cantine Isola sells both the well known and hard-to-find Italian wines, as well as sought-after varietals from neighbouring France and select regions around the world. Peruse the packed shelves interspersed with hand-written poems, proverbs and nursery rhymes, and if you don't see what you're looking for, just ask. Chances are owner Luca Sarais will disappear momentarily into the cantina, and then return smiling, dusting off just the bottle you seek. Staff here speaks several languages, and the nightly aperitivo attracts both locals and foreigners content to share a glass standing elbow-to-elbow in good company.
