MUDEC Museo delle Culture

  Via Tortona 56      (+39) 02 54 917     more than a year ago
Out of the wreckage of a former industrial plant rises a masterpiece of modern architecture. Designed by British architect Sir David Chipperfield, the 17,000 square foot Museo delle Culture is a newcomer to the cultural scene in Milan and absolutely worth the metro trip to Porta Genova FS. Built up over two hundred years via donations by explorers, scholars, missionaries, collectors and other museums, MUDEC's collections total over 7,000 items dating as far back as 1200 BC and spanning a geographical area that encompasses Asia, Africa, Oceania and the Americas. One can easily spend an entire day here, so luckily there is a bistrot on-site for quick bites as well as an elegant restaurant with window's overlooking the state-of-the-art museum.
