Strolling around Amsterdam there's a good chance that you've spotted one of the outlets of this small chain of bakeries. Our favourite of these happens to be the (B)Brood at the ferry terminal of the NDSM-wharf. Three floors have been decorated with a mix of graphic art, bright, splashy colours and an abundance of fresh flowers. The rooftop terrace offers great views of the IJ and the Russian submarine that's moored right outside. Downstairs at the counter you'll encounter the addictive aroma of freshly baked buns, pastries and bread and we recommend the sandwiches slathered in typically sweet Dutch fillings like hagelslag and pindakaas.
