With a dark, autumnal colour scheme, wooden tables covered in oriental rugs and wall-to-wall red carpeting in the back room, not to mention an old grandfather clock, this place certainly qualifies as a brown bar. And speaking of grandfathers, the clientele also leans toward the elder generation with the exception of Saturdays when thirsty shoppers pour in from the market outside. Then you have to be spry to get a seat. Boiled eggs are available at the bar – a Dutch tradition – and beers include Palm and Westmalle.
