Compagnie

Compagnie is located on top of a hill (a hill by Dutch standards anyway) on the westernmost tip of the Oudeschans harbour. On clear days you can see across the Wadden Sea as far as the famous Afsluitdijk, but this place offers much more than great views. Seafood enthusiasts will be pleased to know that they can pick their own oysters from the so-called moularium (oyster tank). The Dutch species from the southern province of Zeeland or their saltier French counterparts from Normandy are both available. If you've got plenty of cash to burn you can also choose your own lobster. But if all of this makes you feel a bit seasick, then try the delicious homemade onion soup topped with local cheese.
