There must be thousands of takeaway restaurants in Amsterdam, so why on earth travel all the way to the Nieuw-Sloten shopping centre in the suburb of Nieuw-West? Because they serve the best bear claws (a deep-fried pastry) with peanut sauce in town. Don't expect any ambience, because there isn't any, but the extremely friendly owner does do a good job of looking after his customers. The five tables are cleaned almost constantly and the tiled floor is swept regularly. We also recommend the chicken burger with fresh lettuce.
