This smallish restaurant is a breath of fresh air for anyone who enjoys simple, good food, but can't be bothered with all of the frills that come with it. The bright and warm décor reflects the casual and inviting attitude of La Maria's two chefs who are still infused with an old-fashioned passion for their profession. Expensive PR boys with clever marketing concepts have never worked their magic here, although they could definitely afford the surprisingly high prices of the freshly prepared dishes. But in the end, the attentive, personal service will probably convince to you to turn a blind eye to the bill.

Having wanted to try this quaint looking restaurant for ages we were totally let down. The "chef" in the front of the forno oven was licking his fingers as he prepared the dishes. And I don't mean just the pinky finger to make she the dish was correctly seasoned but full on! I saw it twice. The server started drinking on shift and the really small portions were overpriced interns of product. But can I really justify a €19 euro lasagne the size of my hand with nothing else?!? Too bad this place has sooo much potential. Over priced and complete lack of any professionalism from the food prep to the service. I get casual ad home style but licking you fingers repeatedly in full view of those you are cooking for and getting buzzed on shift?
