The artKitchen Gallery is housed in a cultural entrepreneurship area called the 1800 Roeden. This is a collection of old warehouses in the middle of the meadows of Nieuw-West. Originally they were used as storage for ammunition and as a laboratory, but in 1984 the site lost its military purpose. The middle section of Hall A has been converted to exhibition space and also houses the office of the artKitchen. The gallery offers a selection of contemporary art consisting of a wide variety of work by Dutch and international artists. The artKitchen Gallery organises at least six exhibitions a year and is very active with local projects and art fairs at home and abroad.
