Grand Cafe de Heeren

During the week this casual Dutch brown bar caters mostly to a business lunch crowd, but in the evening it's one of our favourite hangouts and a great place to have a cheap dinner. Good service isn't something you should expect at this pleasantly decorated bar as the staff are clearly subscribers to 'island time', so bring lots of patience and order your next drink as soon as you get your first one. De Heeren is located on a corner of the Zuikertuintje Mall and offers only views of the adjacent car park. Just order some more alcoholic beverages and the boring surroundings will slowly vanish. It's also a good place to meet locals, especially on Thursdays (Latin night) and Fridays (salsa night).
