Enjoy the beautiful view across the water of the fairytale houses and the two famous bridges at Handelskade from one of the most prominent buildings on the St. Annabaai. Fortunately, the food is yet another reason to grab a seat at the large terrace or the picturesque balcony with the Roman arches, which just happens to be our favourite. The menu offers a good variety of international dishes, but we suggest some local cuisine like chicken in prune stew and keshi yena (a baked ball of cheese stuffed with spicy meat). Reserve some space for the homemade brownies or the delicious flan. Although we recommend the Gouverneur for both lunch and dinner, or just a drink, you should probably avoid it when cruise ships arrive. Call ahead if you want a table with a view.
