The colourful Italian-style atmosphere of wonderful mosaics at the Carousel Gelateria Bar has been luring starving, over-heated patrons here since 2010. It's by far the most impressive place to enjoy ice cream on St. Maarten and dozens of rich and creamy flavours await your perusal including the hazelnut from nearby Piedmont, which is our absolute favourite. The beautiful, cerulean blue tile roof and the stunning crystal chandelier also add to the ambience making the premises look more like a museum than an ice cream parlour. It's certainly not cheap, but well worth the extra money and boasts the cleanest toilets in town. The cheerful merry-go-round with 34 seats ($2/ride) is another crowd pleaser.
