Of the five Hard Rock Cafés that call the Caribbean home, this is our favourite and that's mainly due to its friendly staff, although the excellent location is another bonus. Nothing beats sitting on the deck overlooking the calm waters of Great Bay while enjoying an ice cold local Carib beer. The food is what you'd expect from a big franchise like this with all the predictable burgers, salads and – we have to admit – the most delicious chicken wings on St. Maarten. Of the 72,000 pieces of ‘music related items’ that the parent company owns, a couple of dozen are on display here. We couldn't fathom what the Jacksons had to do with rock (hard or otherwise), but their collection of memorabilia is located upstairs. We much preferred the signed guitars by Lenny Kravitz and the Beach Boys and had a good laugh at Prince's purple scarf, which only he can pull off. Elvis's super tight, green army T-shirt will no doubt get female pelvises moving but one of the highlights has to be the pearl-studded white gloves once worn by Stevie Nicks of Fleetwoord Mac.
