No, the Egyptians never made it this far north, so don't expect any cultural masterpieces here. The Austerlitz Pyramid is located on the highest summit of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug hills and was constructed in 1804 to honour Napoleon Bonaparte. The visitors’ centre, located right next to the café, provides an introduction to the French era, followed by an easy 300-metre walk to the pyramid. Parents will be happy to know that children can play in the extensive playground and fun-fair, which includes cars, merry-go-rounds and a train. Free parking available.
