Hotel Benno

Its central location is by far the biggest asset of this overpriced two-star hotel. If you’re here only for a night or a short stay, the basic, cosy rooms of this historic building will do the job, but otherwise the inconvenience of shared bathrooms and toilets can get on your nerves. A small sink and mirror are, however, available in each of the claustrophobic singles. The 24 rooms are spread out across two floors and can only be reached via a frightening set of narrow, steep steps. Finding the toilet in the corridor is yet another exasperating experience, especially in the middle of the night or after an evening of bar hopping. The extremely friendly staff are worth mentioning and the breakfast is also quite good.
