If you're having a hard time grasping the grandeur of the most attractive building in town, St. John's Cathedral, have a look in the rather undervalued De Bouwloods (The Construction Hangar) museum. This is the former workplace of the stone masons, sculptors, carpenters, bricklayers and other tradesmen who created all of the masterworks that now adorn the Gothic building. Because the cathedral is basically being renovated all the time, the collection at De Bouwloods is renewed regularly. More than 200 original sculptures and building fragments that were removed from St. John's or replaced during restorations are on display in this small, yet interesting museum.
