Trenitalia connects Porto Torres to Sardinia’s other main cities, such as Sassari (a 15mins journey), Olbia (2hrs 30mins), Oristano (3hrs) and Cagliari (4hrs). From Sassari you can get a connection to Alghero (35mins) on one of the regional ARST lines. There is, however, no direct rail connection with Alghero-Fertilia airport. There is no left luggage service and no ticket office at the Porto Torres stations, not even an automatic one. If you haven’t bought a ticket on line you can get one on board the train.
