Saigon Bisztró

"Saigon, still only Saigon" Whoops, sorry. We're quoting from Apocalypse Now when we're supposed to be reviewing the Saigon Bisztró, a new and very reasonably priced Vietnamese restaurant, in the back streets of the sixth district. Here's all you need to know. Their pho soups - small, medium or large as is customary - are hands down the best in town. You can hear the chef frying your dish on the wok in the kitchen out the back and it sounds as good as brushes on high hat cymbals at a jazz festival in old Saigon, and it tastes even better than that. The coup de grâce? The place looks as if it opened up 30 years ago and they haven't changed the décor since. What more really, could one ask for?
