For over four decades the carnival in St. Maarten has been by far the island's largest cultural event. From colourful parades and spectacular pageants to energetic local Calypso bands and international concerts, the carnival really has it all. One of the biggest crowd pleasers is the region's largest temporary restaurant, which sports 80 food stalls selling authentic St. Maarten cuisine representing all of the island's nationalities.
