With a 'stone age' menu concept, which avoids processed carbohydrates, grains (gluten) and dairy produce (lactose) where possible, this inn and bar takes us back to the future. We absolutely loved the steak tartar (choose between a whisky or wasabi marinade) that's served with manioc chips instead of toast and the incredibly tender pulled pork burger with sweet potato fries is also worth ordering. Portions are big, prices include sides and the wine selection is primarily from western Europe. Although located on a busy road, a large lush garden is available out back with a big chestnut tree offering enough shade to provide relief from the summer sun. Wirtshaus zum Eichhof also offers good value lunch menus on weekdays and it's a fine place for a drink on a summer evening.
