Johann Jacobs Museum

Where did your morning cup of coffee come from? You'll find answers at the Johann Jacobs Museum, which has a rather special concept focussing on global trade routes for commodities like coffee, cocoa, rubber or oil as well as on the art and cultural forms these global links give rise to. The wealth of the Jacobs foundation which runs the museum goes back to Johann Jacobs who built a coffee trading empire in the German city of Bremen at the end of the 19th century, which later moved headquarters to Zurich. The villa housing the museum, scenically positioned on the lake shore, has been carefully renovated and is worth a visit in itself. Exhibition texts in English and German.
