If you've had enough of Utrecht's city centre or you simply prefer the peace and quiet of the suburbs, then look no further than Buurten. The city's most popular, and largest, outdoor café is obviously a crowd pleaser on its own, but the affordable meals are yet another reason to pay it a visit. That said, if you're vision of dining doesn't include lots of children you might be better off elsewhere. Then again, the cosy interior, the diverse clientele and the friendly and attentive staff might just convince you to give this relaxed haunt a shot.
