The owners of this pub are very proud of their Utrecht heritage. For example, there’s a large portrait of the town’s patron on the wall. The red and white emblem of the Dom Tower town is also present in this student bar. But you don’t have to be in to history to enjoy this cosy bar which is reminiscent of an English pub due to its warm décor. After all, iron helmets and masks were used there too to fight for freedom. These days goings on are fortunately more peaceful in De Maartenshof. Regulars who like their liquor, can save a lot of money by buying a bottle of rum, Bacardi or whisky and storing it in their personal lockers.
