Dikke Dries usually gets high marks in Dutch pub ratings and we completely agree with this assessment, although the bouncers can be a little intimidating. The main eye-catcher of this spacious old fashioned pub is the bar and although both the female and male bar staff are more attractive than the your average Dutch person, they're in no way arrogant or irritating. All of its signature dishes are excellent, but we recommends the Dikke Dries Burger, Dikke Dries Satay or Dikke Dries Salad. Wash it down with one of the 20 mainly Belgian beers available or try the locally brewed Vrouwenbier – our favourite of the lot.
