Utrecht taxis are safe, clean and generally reliable. Ordering a taxi by phone will get you better service and lower rates for longer distances. Please note that all licensed cabs in all of the Netherlands have special licence plates. Contrary to typical licence plates (that are yellow with black), all taxis must have blue number plates with black letters on them. A price list should be clearly visible behind the window.
