Maxima Park

Between Europaweg and Vleutensebaan     more than a year ago
The largest urban park in the Netherlands is located at the western edge of town. The park, which measures a whopping 300 hectares, is almost as big as the entire city centre of Utrecht and is named after the Argentinian member of the Dutch royal family, the wife of future king Willem-Alexander. You won't realise how big Maxima Park really is until you study a map. Located in the largest new residential area in Holland, this spacious green oasis is full of plant and animal life and is a random hodgepodge of original roads, ditches and farms as well as modern works of art, sports facilities, bars, restaurants and walking paths, which lend the park its unique character.
