Utrecht has quite a few restaurants that provide take away food from Suriname, but this one is our favourite. The food from the former Dutch colony in South America blends culinary traditions from all over the world. This mirrors the ethnic mixture of the country: an ideal blend of Indian, African, Chinese and Indonesian food. The 'roti chicken breast' is especially worth a try. Just be warned: the couple that run the place are no spring chickens, so don't expect lightning fast service. They also only accept cash and the husband is known for always having exact change in his hand, even before you've given your money. How does he do that? Being a member of the older generation has its advantages.
