As one of the biggest museums in Bulgaria, the Archeological Museum in Varna is the perfect place for anyone interested in science, anthropology, history, culture and art. Established in the 19th century, it now has a vast collection of over 10,000 pieces. The exposition area of the museum is 2,150 square meters. The most impressive thing to see there without a doubt is the world's oldest gold - more than 3000 objects discovered in a necropolis near Varna - over 6 kg of gold objects from the middle and late Chalcolithic period (4600 - 4200 BC).
Tickets for the museum and information brochures and books can be purchased in the foyer.
