The café of the Eko Mendje envronmental NGO caters to your sustainable break, serving some snacks and many juices and other drinks that are sourced from the mountains near Shkodra. Try the mountain tea, fresh blackberry, blueberry, cherry or pomegranate juice. If you're after something stronger, their special raki varieties include blueberry from Vermosh, juniper or herbal roots from Tamara, and grape/honey from the Shala valley - or perhaps try a walnut liqueur. The café is a jungle of plants, recycled pallets swing seats and books. Profits go to the commendable activities of the NGO such as cleaning up natural areas, reforestation and increasing ecological awareness.
