Arguably serving up the most popular burgers in Surfers Paradise, if not all of the Gold Coast, Betty's is named for proprietor David Hales' late grandmother, and follows a philosophy of creating fresh, simple, high-quality food in a familial atmosphere. Aside from the fact that its located in the modern Chevron Renaissance shopping centre, Betty's successfully channels the spirit of your typical 1950s burger joint. While the burgers are about as good as they come, don't miss out on the juicy fried chicken (it's even available as a burger add-on if you're arteries are up for the challenge) or sides of skin-on French fries and onion rings. Of course the burgers are only half the story, as the 'concrete' in the name refers to the frozen custard ice cream with a couple dozen mix-ins to choose from.
