Gold Coast Airport

The Gold Coast Airport is Australia’s busiest outside of a state capital and it seems to continually be growing with infrastructure upgrades common - an especially major redevelopment will prepare it for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The airport is well connected domestically, serviced by all the local carriers with both full service and budget fares available. It also has a number of international connections into Asia and New Zealand including many serviced by no-frills carriers AirAsia, Scoot and Jetstar so keep you’re eyes peeled for bargains. The airport has the usual range amenities you’d expect from a larger airport (tax refund desk, car hire places, money exchanges, etc) as well as plenty of shops where you can pick up last minute souvenirs and duty free goods. The airport really isn’t a food destination though there are plenty of places to grab a snack, light meal or pre-flight drink at airport prices. Buses connect the Airport with the rest of the Gold Coast or else grab a shuttle or taxi. To get to Brisbane you can either grab a shuttle or on public transport via a bus and then train.
