Founded in 1982 and based on the concept of serving homemade ice cream on freshly baked waffles cones from traditional Danish recipes, Royal Copenhagen now has some dozen shops, including the Cavill road location that opened all way back in 1984. If something has been around the Gold Coast for that long it's safe to assume there's a reason, and that reason is the best ice cream in town. With over 50 flavours to choose from (our favourites are coconut rough, old fashioned toffee and scorched peanut), you'll likely want to make repeat visits during your stay, and if your accommodation has a freezer you can also get a half litre take home pack.
