Bangor is the only city in the north of Wales and as such is something of a centre for exploring the area, a decent-enough base with good transport links and plenty of life once the sun goes down. It also happens to have a decent selection of cafes and restaurants, not to mention some seriously good pub food, so you’ll have no issue finding food in between excursions into Snowdonia and the north.
