Discovered just a few years ago, the lost city of Balkis is a window to the 6th century and a chance to experience history in the palm of your hands. The remains of an old church are the centrepiece, but this is a great example of the power of history and how little attention it pays to the means of the day. Fascinating and sombre, all at once.
