There are many ethno villages in and around the Banja Luka area, but Ljubačevo likely takes the ‘Best in Show’ prize. The location itself is fascinating enough, completely isolated from the rest of the world in the hills some 17km away from the city, exactly the sort of place where a real life time machine should be located. Ljubačevo is a visit-orientated look into simpler times, showcasing how life was lived in these parts back in the day. All of the buildings are original, brought here from other villages as opposed to constructed out of modern materials, adding an extra element of reality to the whole thing. The village is usually closed during winter, but can get very busy in summer.
