The bright peaches and cream exterior of this unpretentious hotel gives way to a stained glass, oak and wrought iron interior. The medieval-themed bar and nightclub attract a devoted 25-55 clientele who are well up for its eighties to noughties DJ sets and Irish music sessions. The Gothic-style decadence continues into the big and busy bistro with its great value 'Beat The Clock' menu (dine at seven, pay £7 - you get the idea). All bedrooms are ensuite and include the usual three star fixtures, but frisky minxes can always upgrade to an Executive Room for some Jacuzzi-fuelled fun. No rest for the wicked, but good value and a great location.
