Florence Court

  Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh      (+44) (0)28 6634 8249     more than a year ago
Home to three generations of the Cole family for over 250 years, this Georgian house is named after the wife of its first inhabitant, Sir John Cole, father of the 1st Earl of Enniskillen. The house and its 14 acres has been owned by the National Trust since 1953. The imposing property boasts exquisite rococo plasterwork, an impressive Irish furniture collection and stunning views of the Cuilcagh mountains.

Ten miles of cycling and walking trails traverse its extensive grounds and neighbouring forest park. Stop to admire the water-powered sawmill, blacksmith's forge, 1930s kitchen garden and Ireland's original yew tree. After your exploration, stop off for refreshments at the tearoom. Visitors can also overnight at its pretty Rose Cottage.
