Belfast & Northern Ireland

IKEA

Not since ABBA won Eurovision has a Swedish icon stimulated so much excitement. Yes, the Scandinavian master of flat pack furniture and minimalist design has touched down right beside Belfast City Airport. Pack your van, grab a big trolley and head indoors for a low budget shopping spree followed by meatballs and take-away herrings. The restaurant is particularly child-friendly with free food for babies and some great play areas.

I adore Ikea, why? Because when I have those down days I go to Ikea and it cheers me up! Not to mention the great features such as the restaurant which is really cheap and I've never found food there I didn't like. The house hold products such as bedding, and other things can be a little but expensive (but that's my personal opinion) but where do you get such unique and colorful quality items for your home? certainly not at your local Argos! From memory I've bought electrical items, bedding, storage boxes, bowls, bags, food and drink to go, candle related items, decorative flowers, Christmas items (seasonal produce), cushions and covers, and much more and I couldn't complain about any of the items! A big bonus with the bedding is that you get double the pillowcases compared to typical British duvet covers. The Bedding and covers also wash brilliantly and don't seem to wear tout too quickly! Ikea also have sales to celebrate different things which means you may be able to pick up a super bargain! Also throughout the year there is celebrations such as Midsummer, Crayfish Parties etc.Another thing (personally) when I walk into Ikea it doesn't feel like I'm in Belfast any more It kinda feels like I'm in another country, which is a nice change for me because I get bored looking and being in the same shops. Over all Ikea is 10/10 for experience, 9.9/10 for prices, 10/10 for the food inc the food Market.
