Bilbao Fine Arts Museum


Opened in 1914, it houses Spain's second largest collection after the Prado in Madrid. The collection of this important artistic space in the capital of Biscay, brings together works by Francis Bacon, Gauguin, Delaunay, Velázquez, Goya and Picasso. The Bilbao Museum of Fine Arts is also known for its pieces by Basque artists, by whom it has a large collection of works. Sir Norman Foster has recently won the contest to create a major new extension and remodel the Museum, with no due date announced yet.
