Like most Balkan cities that developed in the 20th century, Prijedor has no shortage of blank concrete spaces dotted throughout town. Instead of leaving these for the rogue graffiti artists that quickly desecrate such spaces, the city of Prijedor has instead given them over to the many talented artists in and around town. The ‘City of Murals’ is the result, a growing collection of murals covering subjects as varied as vibrant flower scenes, local heroes, and even shirt pudgy Italian plumbers. Yes, we’re talking about Super Mario. We can’t wait to see what comes next.
