A monument found close to the cultural centre in the city park, Trebinje’s World War II statue is a classical homage to the millions who died in that most hellacious of wars. On a marble stage stand a ragtag group of people, from hard-nosed soldiers to defiant women, all representing the many people of Trebinje who stood up to fight against fascism, and lost their lives in the process.
