St. Dumitru Church (Biserica Sf. Dumitru) dates back to the 15th century. It was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1847 and the current building dates from 1852 but it has undergone numerous renovations due to damage from earthquakes. St. Dumitru is the patron saint of Bucharest.
