Sala Dalles

Sala Dalles is a theatre hall and cultural hub found on one of Bucharest's busiest streets - Bld. Nicolae Balcescu.
The building was opened in 1932 with a fine art exposition of the works of George Oprescu and Jean Alexandru Steriadi, and its mastermind, Elena Dalles, who donated the money for the theatre to the Romanian Academy, intended it to be "a place for the development of character of Romanian citizens by educating their souls through culture."

Sala Dalles is hard to spot from main road as in 1958, the communist regime built an apartment bloc in front of it, with visitors nowadays accessing Dalles Hall through a doorway that leads to it.
