The names of Lajos Bíró (chef) and Cuki Bácsi (manager) could be symbols of Hungarian hospitality if they were printed on a T-shirt. Instead they concentrate on their restaurant business on Erzsébet körút, and now in Buda at Szarvas Gábor utca. The restaurateurs’ main goal was to create a wine bistro, where one could find an excellent kitchen and of course, a great selection of wine, understandably with an emphasis on Bock’s very own products. The place has stayed true to these aims. Carnivores should definitely try either the ox cheek or the goatling, if it is on the menu. Both have attained almost cult-like status with Budapest foodies.
