Though victory has eluded the Hungarian Army for centuries, this collection salvages some glory from the jaws of defeat. The exhibition on the 1848 revolution and war of independence displays uniforms, flags and bayoneted rifles. The English descriptions make a valiant effort to explain an utterly complicated conflict. Strangely, the exhibition on the Hungarian Army from 1922 to 1944 handles the irridentism of the time at face value, without placing it in context. Look for the board game 'Get It All Back!,' where the object is to reconquer the territory of Greater Hungary. And, of course, check out the dishcloth with Hitler on it.
