Discovering a tiki bar on Király utca, one freezing night in January, seemed like the antidote to the standard midwinter Budapest blues. Modelled on the world's most famous chain of tiki bars (Trader Vic's) they've certainly got the décor and atmosphere down pat: whether that's wait staff in Hawaiian shirts, the thatched hut walls or Polynesian carvings, this fun little cocktail bar will certainly transport you out of Central Europe. Certainly not the cheapest place in town to get a drink - a beer is just shy of a 1000 HUF, it might depend on what price you're prepared to pay for a bit of escapism. Check their Facebook page for details of live music and happy hours. Mahalo!
Thu, Fri, Sat 17:00 - 04:00, Mon, Tue, Wed, Sun 17:00 - 02:00.

WARNING ⚠️ This bar is set up to steal unsuspecting foreign customers. Last night our visa card was charged €250. My wife & I went back to RUMPUS TIKI BAR the next day with our receipt and were told to vacate the premises aggressively. No explanation or refund given even though my wife is a Hungarian national.
