You’ll know when you are moving between the old town and new part of Cádiz, as you’ll have to stroll through the monumental Puerta de Tierra (Land Gate), a monolithic 18th century gate that is as much religious monument as it is military fortification. The upper part is available for strolling in the afternoon, with plenty of information available in both English and Spanish for the history-curious visitor.
