Antibes Town

more than a year ago
On the French Riviera, between Cannes and Nice, lies this resort town of Antibes that has a rich history dating back to the 16th century. Not only does the town serve as a destination for tourists on day trips from Cannes, Nice, and other nearby cities, but it is also a fully functioning resort town that boasts of nice hotels, sandy beaches, and lots of other things to do and see.

Because Antibes is a historic town, most attractions for sightseeing that are here, for instance, Le Fort Carré, require a guided tour in order for visitors to understand history better. Parks, gardens, museums, aquarium shows, and good restaurants are all found in Antibes.

Antibes has its fair share of luxury just like any other town and city in Côte d’Azur. Port Vauban Antibes, one of the largest marina in Europe, flaunts a fleet of sleek big and small yachts. They even have an International Yacht Club for visitors with yachts.

For party mongers, entertainment, in general, is big in Antibes. Nightlife buzzes and music never stops playing. Celebrities have been visiting Antibes for so many years, the trend was started by the likes of Picasso and Charlie Chaplin, just to mention a few.

The most intriguing area in Antibes is the Old Town. Known for its small streets and surrounded by walls, the old town is the heart of Antibes. Attractions like Chateau Grimaldi, which houses Picasso Museum, are found here. Similarly, restaurants that are found in the old quarters are very popular because of their authentic touch and flavours. The market is the best place to get fresh fruits, vegetables, as well as gifts and souvenirs to take back home.
