The greatest city on the planet? The proud capital of the most wonderful nation on earth? Okay, we’re a little biased, sat here happily wearing our colours on our sleeves (or in this case, dragons painted on our faces), but Cardiff is a city that appeals to anyone with a beating heart. This is a special place, a melting pot of history, culture and architecture that is striding towards the future with a confidence that only the Welsh can muster. And that is just during the day time…Because when the sun goes down, this city reveals its true colours. Cardiff is a famous night out in the UK, a place that will drink you under the table and then stump up for the morning-after coffee, a town of 335,145 proud people that might not be able to put one more away, but bloody heck are they going to try. If you’re here on a big rugby weekend, consider yourself blessed — there is no better night out on this island. Cardiff is a gem during the day and a life-affirmer at night. The castle and the bay show an ability to look internally and externally, while the National Museum proudly displays the history of art and culture that makes the Welsh so very special. Are we biased? You better believe we are, and boy are we proud of that.
